Larry Bush

Meet Larry

Larry Bush is a proud father, businessman and active volunteer in the Lawton Community. Senate District 32 needs a proven leader with experience, who believes in teamwork that unites and serves all Oklahomans.

“When my son was very young, I drove my son to  school and went to his classroom. There were 40 kids in there, and I thought, ‘There is no way someone could learn in here, or that a teacher could teach.’ I decided to get involved and asked how I could help.”

For nearly 20 years, Larry has been a volunteer for Lawton Public Schools, reading to students, running the LPS Foundation’s Booster Club, and regularly donating school supplies. Running booster clubs for both Almor West and Woodland Hills elementary schools.

A small businessman, Bush founded the Larry Bush Insurance agency over 20 years ago.

“My line of work is about helping people in often their greatest times of need, and I take it very seriously. It’s a tremendous responsibility God has trusted me with.”

Bush cites education, crime control, criminal justice reform, access to health care and the economy as his top concerns.

“All those issues link back to education,” said Bush.

An active member of First Baptist East Church, Larry has been dedicated to his community, primarily through the school systems in various capacities, including working with school principals, speaking to students about the importance of education, reading to various classrooms and sponsoring needed supplies and donations to further support local schools and students.

Bush was a four-year starter at defensive back for the University of Oklahoma football team in the early 1990’s, and has also served as an assistant coach at Lawton MacArthur.
